What a great night. For the last month Alli C. and her boyfriend have been road-tripping across the country. They stayed one more night here before leaving for France and it was fantastic to see them again. We drank a couple bottles of wine, carved a pumpkin and roasted the seeds…oh, and did I mention she let it slip that they are getting married?!? She was so nonchalant about it that I almost felt badly for getting as excited as I did. Almost. I also made this soup for dinner since they had been traveling all day. It was fantastic, even with this few small changes I made, namely adding more chicken broth (it’s a really thick soup) and substituting roasted red peppers and jalapenos for the poblano…I think I’m going to make another batch before the weekend is out to take to work all next week!
