Tonight bitches!
9/8c
FOX
Long live quality television. The glare from the pilot has worn off and what we’re left with is snappy editing, motif laden writing, a signature style, and teen angst. Like so many of the superior dramas on the air nowadays (Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Lost, creative cousin Nip Tuck) it has created an identity all it’s own - something vital to the quality inclined viewer. But will it be too weird for mainstream audiences? It’s likely. Also, despite being on music friendly Fox, the musical genre may not be tolerated.
Here’s to hoping it’s the first musical television drama to become a crossover hit.
